As in the acclaimed 3.0-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine of 740 models, the use of low-mass turbochargers twins exceeds the historical disadvantage of supercharging the so-called "turbo lag" before the engine responds to the driver's seat accelerator foot with strong thrust. And the twin turbos keep providing, as well as speed range mentioned above. New, advanced option: Integral Active Steering
Offered in 2011 as a stand-alone option, BMW Integral Active Steering varies the steering ratio electronically (the number of degrees of steering wheel must be rotated to get a steering angle 1ES the front wheels) according to vehicle speed and the other driving conditions. At low speeds and during parking maneuvers this ratio declined significantly, resulting in remarkable maneuverability and agility, with increasing vehicle speed, so does the ratio, reaching a "normal" at about 75 mph.

Secure management via powerful brakes and full DSC
Yet another advance is in active safety brake system of the 7-Series'. Four ventilated disc brakes are standard for a long feature on all BMW models the United States, but until now the additional refinement of aluminum / cast iron brake discs has been reserved for the highest-performing five six models in the series.

These include anti-lock braking (ABS), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Cornering Brake Control and Dynamic Brake Control, each of these functions contributes to vehicle stability or to braking effectiveness. Other improvements include braking via DSC Brake Fade Compensation, which compensates for the lack of braking power (fading) under hard or repeated brake use; Brake Standby, which wrap the brake pads to the rotors when the driver suddenly takes off foot off the accelerator to reduce the actual time delay in applying the brakes and brake drying, which brings the pads to the discs periodically while driving in the wet.
Beyond these extensive functions, still others involve the use of brakes to achieve the desired objectives and operational stability. All these driving dynamics functions are coordinated and overseen by BMW Integrated Chassis Management.
